First Impression: Good, standard mystery/thriller.
Not incredibly original. It’s your mystery novel. Nothing remarkable about it. Just a churned out, formulaic novel. Except for the Alex Delaware main character, every character was really flat and sort of just there. It wasn’t bad enough to stop reading but it was definitely forgettable. By the time I’m done writing this, I’m going to have forgotten everything about it. It’s the story of a woman who is being sued by her sister for custody of her daughter. Crap happens, yada yada yada. I have read other books by Jonathan Kellerman and really enjoyed them. I just thought this one was way too formulaic.
